The Prosperity Cup is receiving more and more support and appeal. The private sector led by Linkage Assurance is keying into the Miracle Governor, Senator Douye Diri's agenda of prosperity through sports by embracing the largest and most prestigious grassroot football tournament in Nigeria and bye and large Africa.
The Chief Executive Officer of Swiss Royal Grill, HRM Lady Evelyn Balogun has declared the group's unreserved support for the tournament and appreciates the recognition given her organisation by the LOC of the Prosperity Cup 2023.
Responding to the team led by the Deputy Director-General Deacon Emnanuel Appah after she was presented with a tournament customized jersey, the amiable CEO full of enthusiasm declared she will wear the jersey with so much pride and promised to attend matches as much as possible to give her support to the teams playing.
Deacon Appah, on behalf of the Director-General, Ono Akpe sent the high regards of His Excellency Senator Douye Diri to the CEO and her organization and commended her warm reception of the team.
Meanwhile teams are receiving their jerseys even as the first round matches of the Prosperity Cup will see teams from Yenagoa trading tackles with each other from the 11th of June. Kpansia FC will battle it out with Kadion Glorious School at the BDGS Center by 1pm. While Akaba Town 2 will tackle Ogbo United of Ikibiri by 3pm.
Other matches at the popular Maracana Stadium Kpansia will see Prime Wash FC sizing up Ogbolo FC in the first match just as Azikiro FC and St Patrick Church will bring out the best in their teams to pick a spot in the next round.
At the Old Assembly Quarters Kpansia FC and Shegbelegbe will fight for honours to the next round. Other centers will equally see entertaining football at it's best as Baptist Youth FC will meet Ohaneze FC at the Opolo School field followed by a match up between Zola FC and House of Hope School. At the Tombia Center, Ogu Colombia United and Dreams Academy will battle for honours just as Kpansia FC 2 will square up with Northern Strikers for the 2nd ticket in this center.
God's Grace Stars will pray to overcome BYS School of Nursing who will also expect to overrun their opponents. Polaku FC and Life Way Ministry will continue from where the 1st match left off in another winner takes it all duel at the Ogboloma Center. Not to be left out for a place in the second round are Kpansia Young Boys and GG Distinguished Ass. who will test each other's skills in the first match while Socials Int'l FC and Ebis FC will hope to pick the 2nd ticket at the Igbogene Center.
Matches on the 11th will hold also at the Okordia Zarama Center with Agbia FC and Okolobiri FC leaving nothing to chance to get the first ticket in this center, while Biseni United will welcome Interact BY FC to the field in the second match.
Sunday the 11th June promises to usher in Season 5 of the Prosperity Cup with good entertaining football at all the centers.
