Professor Nimibofa Ayawei, PNA FC of Koluama in Southern Ijaw LGA has again demonstrated it's desire to go all the way in season seven of Nigeria's biggest grassroots football showpiece, the Bayelsa Governor's Football Tournament christened the Prosperity Cup.
PNA put up a very dominant performance at the Amassoma venue tournament, with an emphatic six nil victory over Fury Titans.
Okojo John put the delightful PNA FC side ahead on 17 minutes from a beautiful finish. Indutimi Golubo made it two nil on 28 minutes from a well-delivered cross. Experienced forward, Ebi Dan increased the tally to three on 30 minutes. Pere Lector added another on 44 minutes.
The ever purposeful PNA FC continued to mount pressure on Fury Titans FC and their efforts paid off barely three minutes of the resumption of the second half as Indutimi Golubo completed his brace. Pere Lector completed the demolition exercise with a beautiful gial on 69 minutes to see PNA into the next round of the tournament.
In Biogbolo/Yenizue-gene, Mountain of Fire Ministry, MFM FC beat youthful FC Silina 4-3 on penalties after a one-all draw in regulation time. National Youth Service Corps, NYSC Feeders FC were lone goal winners over Oga United.
Playing at the Tombia venue, Advance Dreams FA recorded a two nil victory over Eleven Planets FC with Prince Agah and Zitongha Clinton scoring the goals in the first half.
At the Enewari venue, Oyoma FC continued their fairytale ride with a two nil victory over Federal Polytechnic, Ekowei.
In earlier encounters at the Opolo centre, Corinthians FC beat Ogbara United 4-2 on penalities after sharing the spoils in regulation time, Youthful Afini FC edged out Flying Vasco by three goals to two to progress to the next round of the competition.
Playing at the Swali centre, Peace FC defeated Kolumbia FC 4-3 on penalities after a one-all draw in regulation time, while Royal Allstars pipped Rochester City by a lone goal to cement their place in the next round.
At Otuokpoti, Ayalla FC of Okiki overcame Austonee Ultimate FC by two goals to one ensuring that they qualified for the next phase of the competition.
Action continues in three centres today.In Imiringi, highly rated Mover's FC of Otuasega will take on Chief Street FC of Otuokpoti by 3.00pm while Seaside FC will keep a date with Better Days FC by noon at the Bishop Dimieari Grammar School, BDGS centre, with Shekina FC going up against Solid Stars FC by 2.00p.m.
High-flying Church of God Mission FC will entertain 2022 Prosperity Cup champions, Eternal Grace Ministry, EGM FC by 2.00p.m. at the Ogboloma centre.
